Some Monarch students live in Tijuana, Mexico, and cross the border twice-a-day to get to school.  Photo: Joshua

This ongoing series of projects is a collaboration between Monarch School in San Diego, California and World Story Exchange. Students learn the basics of documentary storytelling and create their own personal stories, or community history documentaries, using photography, video, audio recording and editing tools. Their work will be exchanged with student films from across the Americas.

Our students describe Monarch as a bridge to success, a school emphasizing artistic expression, and an organization offering extra support for kids who have economic difficulties.
